FINDING YOURSELF IN SYDNEY Being a Sydney newbie isn’t easy. Family and friends are left behind and new support systems don’t emerge overnight.

But don’t despair! There are many ethnic and community organisations which may be able to help with the settling-in process by providing key info and contacts. Search under ‘Clubs’ and ‘Organisations’ listed in the Yellow Pages telephone directory or ask your Migrant Resource Centre for a list of clubs and organisations that may suit your needs and interests.

GETTING TOGETHER TO DISCOVER SYDNEY Nature has provided Sydney with sunshine aplenty and a playground to envy. Now it’s a case of joining together to discover what makes the city tick and how we fit in.

We are keen to organise group activities that bring newbies together, provide an insight into Sydney’s soul and help with settling into the city. Potential activity includes:

  • heading to a sporting event (with a presentation/briefing from an expert)
  • going to a cultural event (again, with insights from an expert)
  • having a typical Aussie picnic and/or BBQ
  • enjoying a tour
  • meeting up at a beach

What do you think? What would you like to do? Drop us a line with your thoughts and you’ll ensure the first Sydney Newbie social & networking event is tailored to suit your wants and needs.
